Support Specialist Practitioner Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Support Specialist Practitioner to join our Crisis Response Team, delivering critical support to vulnerable women and children.

This role offers an opportunity to be part of a movement dedicated to safety, dignity, and empowerment. You will work directly with individuals experiencing or at risk of family violence, providing immediate responses, safety planning, crisis support and referrals in community settings and crisis accommodation.

Working from a feminist and trauma-informed perspective, you will walk alongside those in crisis, offering them hope, support, and a path forward.

  • Respond promptly to referrals and provide outreach support in community and crisis settings
  • Conduct assessments, deliver crisis interventions, and develop collaborative case plans
  • Connect clients with holistic, culturally appropriate services and community supports
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records to ensure continuity of care
  • Advocate for client safety and well-being, while identifying service gaps for improvement

You Will Have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work (or equivalent) – essential
  • Experience in family violence or child wellbeing work – desirable
  • Strong crisis intervention skills and a calm, empathetic approach
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Knowledge of family violence frameworks and child protection principles
  • Commitment to culturally safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed practice
  • A current and valid Employee Working with Children's Check
