Key to our organisation's success is a talented leader who can drive innovation and change in the power system engineering space. As the Manager of Future System Studies, you will lead an engineering centre of excellence and a team of highly skilled power system engineers.

Your role involves managing a team of up to ten individuals, contributing to enterprise leadership and stakeholder trust as a member of the Management team. You will support the development and implementation of Departmental, Divisional, and team initiatives in line with overall strategies.

Key responsibilities include leading future power system study elements of the Engineering Roadmap and Transition Plan for System Security. This will involve analysis of emerging power system phenomena, new technology capabilities, and major system transition points.

You will develop and maintain power system study capability, tools, models, and future state cases for technical investigations. Your projects will evaluate the service contributions of assets, deliver a program of planning studies in collaboration with AEMO's System Security Planning team and Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSPs).

You will provide engineering expertise and advisory services to support reform development and implementation, ensuring new policy, regulatory, and market mechanisms consider technical and power system engineering requirements. As the Manager, you will motivate and enable the team to deliver on accountabilities and influence stakeholders.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience building and managing teams in complex technical environments, and experience driving innovation and change. You will have a deep understanding of the NER, the NEM, and the Rule change framework.
