Job DescriptionJob Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Disability Support Professional to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support to participants, facilitating their involvement in daily activities, and promoting their independence.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist participants with daily living tasks and home-based activities
- Provide short-term focused interventions, psycho-education, and mentoring to support participants' goals and well-being
- Facilitate daily personal hygiene and care tasks, ensuring participants' dignity and comfort
- Coordinate and facilitate community access, promoting social inclusion and participation
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to participants, enhancing their confidence and self-esteem
- Facilitate participant communication, empowering them to make informed choices and decisions
- Implement and monitor Behaviour Management Strategies, ensuring a safe and supportive environment
- Contribute to goal planning and tracking, promoting participants' learning, skill development, and employment opportunities
- Transport participants to medical and social appointments, ensuring their accessibility and convenience
- Uphold the rights, independence, and dignity of all participants, maintaining confidentiality and respecting their choices
- Certificate III or IV in Disability or Aged Care
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- 100 points of ID (Citizenship/Passport/Driver License/Visa & Granted Form, Medicare Card or government-issued document)
- Police Clearance
- First Aid + CPR
- Manual Handling
- Medication certificate
- Car Rego
- Car Insurance
- Comprehensive Covid-19 Vaccinations (3 doses)
- Understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
- Experience working as a disability support worker
- Computer literacy
