The Senior Lawyer position offers a dynamic opportunity to work closely with the Director of Legal and Integrity at the Federal Circuit and Family Court, providing timely and strategic legal guidance and support on complex issues related to workplace law and WHS complaints/investigations.
As a key member of the Executive Management team, this role will provide high-level legal, strategic, and management advice and support to assist with complaints received by the Courts about Registrars and staff.
The Legal Office is responsible for addressing Workplace & WHS Law issues, including employment law, industrial relations, discrimination, work health and safety, and complaint handling. The team also works across a broad spectrum of Court-specific issues, supporting the Chief Justice and CEO/PR in their statutory duties and day-to-day management of the Courts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing expert legal advice and support on workplace law and WHS matters;
- Working collaboratively with the Director of Legal and Integrity to develop and implement strategies to address complex legal issues;
- Assisting with the management of complaints received by the Courts about Registrars and staff;
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the legal function and work collaboratively with senior leaders within the Courts.
