About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Audio Visual Systems Designer to join our team at Remote Staff. As an AV Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex audio visual systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and draft technical documentation for audio visual systems
  • Collaborate with sales and technical teams to review scope of work and sales orders
  • Assist sales with preliminary scope of work, estimated installation hours, and equipment lists
  • Design systems and cable schedules according to customer needs
  • Perform site surveys for larger scale projects
  • Prepare complete AV plans, including line diagrams, bills of materials, scope of work, and rack elevations
  • Stay current on technological developments in the AV field, including new hardware and software
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience designing complex AV solutions
  • 2+ years of experience with AV products, such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Atlas, and Harman
  • 1+ years of experience with proposals and bids support
  • 1+ years of experience with CAD and Visio
  • 1+ years of experience with estimating software
  • Certified Technology Specialist certification
  • AV design/project engineering experience, preferably with a leading systems integrator
  • Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding people skills, high ethical standards, and work ethic
  • Technical knowledge of 3 or more of the following: audiovisual equipment, videoconferencing endpoints, network equipment, network services, hardware, software, and managed services offerings
Preferred Qualifications
  • Other industry certifications, such as DMC-E, EAVA, CVE, and ACE
  • Knowledge of AV signal flow
  • Some control systems DSP programming experience, such as AMX, Crestron, and Extron
  • Knowledge of IP networking, including routing protocols and VoIP, SIP, H.323, and videoconferencing applications
