About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, Australia. As a key member of our MEP team, you will be responsible for designing energy-efficient, compliant, maintainable, and sustainable HVAC systems for technically complex facilities in the life sciences industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess project requirements and break them down into manageable tasks
  • Work with project managers to determine scope of work, budget, and staffing
  • Write scope of work for mechanical or utility design based on preliminary review and meetings with clients
  • Prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems and analyze operation of existing systems
  • Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals
  • Prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and scope of project
  • Assist in the education and development of design staff and act as a resource for design questions
Requirements
  • Bachelor or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Chartered Professional Engineer
  • 10+ years of design engineering experience with a good understanding of HVAC system design and experience with central utilities, including steam systems
  • Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting
  • Progressive ability, capacity, and aptitude in administration to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others
