**Procurement Leadership Role**

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in developing and implementing effective procurement strategies, policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and supporting procurement services strategy, governance frameworks and plans in line with strategic outcomes defined by the department and/or government.
  • Providing high-level strategic advice and analysis to senior management and departmental officers on procurement practices by maintaining a sophisticated knowledge of contemporary issues impacting on procurement.
  • Overseeing complex submissions, plans, reports, briefing materials and correspondence on significant procurement-related issues relevant to the department.
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing procurement systems, policies and procedures, and training to deliver effective and efficient strategic procurement within the department in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Managing strategic procurement functions to ensure best practice and coordinate the establishment of supply arrangements, including provision of expert advice on specifications, evaluating offers, contract management and/or administration, supply market analysis and other general procurement activities.
  • Establishing and maintaining strategic and effective working relationships within the department and across government agencies and other external bodies.
