We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at SGS. As a key member of our health and safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Professional Advice and Support: Offer expert guidance and support to our business units across multiple sites, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Maintain Risk/Hazard Registers: Ensure accurate and up-to-date risk and hazard registers are maintained for all facilities, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
- Facilitate Risk Management: Develop and implement a consistent approach to risk management, ensuring workers are trained and equipped to identify and manage risks effectively.
- Incident Reporting and Investigation: Facilitate the reporting and recording of all incidents, hazards, and near misses, conducting thorough investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Regular Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to interact with management teams and workforces, assessing processes, risk management, safety behaviors, and system audits.
- Audit and Compliance: Establish processes for internal audits of sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Operational Integrity Management System: Assist in the implementation, review, and maintenance of our Operational Integrity Management System, ensuring it remains effective and compliant.
- Tertiary Qualification: Hold a tertiary qualification in Health and Safety (degree or postgraduate qualification).
- Training and Assessment: Possess current qualifications in Training and Assessment.
- Incident Investigation Techniques: Have qualifications in incident investigation techniques (ICAM or similar).
- Lead Auditor Qualification: Hold a Lead Auditor qualification in either Health and Safety or Quality.
- Australian Work Health and Safety Legal Framework: Have a sound knowledge of the Australian Work Health and Safety Legal Framework.
- Health and Safety Management System: Have extensive experience with the development, management, and implementation of a Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001).
- Health and Safety Risk Management: Possess knowledge and experience in Health and Safety risk management principles and Emergency Management.
- Computer Skills: Have intermediate to advanced level computer skills.
- Driving Licence: Hold a current driving licence.
