Amazon has established the Generative AI Innovation Center (GAIIC) to assist AWS clients in expediting the implementation of Generative AI for addressing business and operational challenges while fostering innovation within their organizations.
GAIIC offers a platform for innovation in a dynamic environment, contributing to transformative projects and technologies deployed across devices and cloud infrastructures. As an Applied Science Manager at GAIIC, you will collaborate with technology and business teams to develop new Generative AI solutions that enhance customer satisfaction. You will oversee a team of data scientists, research scientists, deep learning architects, and machine learning engineers tasked with creating generative AI models and pipelines, delivering cutting-edge solutions to meet customer needs.
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and customer engagement skills, enabling you to represent AWS effectively within our ecosystem and directly to end-users. You will lead discussions with senior technical and management personnel among customers and partners, leveraging your technical background to guide data scientists and software developers.
Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking regarding business, product, and technical matters. A crucial aspect of this role is being an exceptional technical team leader, adept at recruiting, developing, and retaining top-tier technical talent.

- 3+ years of experience managing scientists or machine learning engineers
- Proficiency in ML, NLP, Information Retrieval, and Analytics
- Direct management experience with scientists or machine learning engineers
- Experience in developing machine learning models or algorithms for business applications
- Proven track record in building complex software systems, particularly in deep learning, machine learning, and computer vision, successfully delivered to clients
