Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Advocacy Specialist to join our team. This role involves working closely with individuals who have experienced mental health challenges, providing them with the support and guidance they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide individualised support and advocacy services to clients, helping them to navigate the complexities of the mental health system.
  • To work collaboratively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalised recovery plans.
  • To educate clients about their rights and entitlements, ensuring they receive the support and resources they deserve.
  • To facilitate access to community-based psychosocial support programs, enabling clients to maintain their independence and live fulfilling lives.
Requirements
  • A Certificate IV or above in a relevant field OR a minimum of 2-years full-time experience working in the human services field.
  • A strong commitment to recovery-based practice and a passion for empowering individuals with mental health issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse client groups and build strong relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Maintain a current Australian Driver's Licence.
