Job Title: Claims Advocate
\The Claims Advocate role is a challenging and rewarding position that requires expertise in managing complex insurance claims.
\Key Responsibilities:
\- Managing end-to-end complex medical and loss of income claims, ensuring timely and fair resolutions for customers.
- Setting and maintaining claim reserves in line with actuarial principles, policy terms, and regulatory requirements.
- Handling complaints and escalations, utilizing conflict resolution skills to de-escalate concerns and ensure a transparent claims experience.
- Supporting customers with mental health challenges, financial hardship, or language/cultural barriers.
About This Role:
\- Previous experience with mental health, injury, and chronic illness-related claims is highly valued.
- A strong understanding of loss of income calculations, including offsets, waiting periods, benefit caps, and pre-disability earnings, is essential.
- Proficiency in working with vulnerable customers and demonstrating effective communication skills is crucial.
- Demonstrated skill in complaint handling and de-escalation techniques, as well as confidence in liaising with medical professionals, clients, employers, brokers, and other stakeholders.
