About the Role

We are seeking a Vintage Laboratory Assistant / Cellar Hand to join our team at Hardys Tintara Winery. As a key member of our winemaking team, you will be responsible for undertaking analysis of juice and wine in accordance with laboratory procedures, as well as general winery operations within the cellar.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Undertaking testing of all juices and wines and reporting anything not within specification
  • Undertaking data entry and assisting with transcription and checking of analysis
  • Assisting with maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Undertaking vintage cellar operations, including grape receival, crushing, fermentation activities, barrel work and juice or wine transfers
  • Recording data on log sheets or cellar notes
  • Maintaining general laboratory and winery cleanliness, hygiene and housekeeping
  • Following direction as provided by Winemakers and experienced laboratory and cellar staff
  • Ensuring that laboratory operations and cellar operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner; adhering to company policies and procedures at all times
What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Full working rights – visa holders included
  • Good communication skills
  • Literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to work rotating shift work (possible weekends also)
  • Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks, and the ability to work outdoors, at heights and in confined spaces

Desirable skills include:

  • Previous wine industry experience
  • Forklift Licence
  • Confined space ticket
  • Year 12 Chemistry or Laboratory AQF qualifications
