About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Health, Safety, and Training Advisor to join our team at the Mount Pleasant Operation in the Hunter Valley. As a key member of our Health, Safety, and Training department, you will play a critical role in promoting a 'Zero Harm' safe and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide health, safety, and training systems and processes support and advice to the team
  • Develop and implement effective health, safety, and training strategies to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with the Health, Safety, and Training Specialist to develop and deliver training programs for employees and contractors
  • Investigate incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related discipline
  • First Aid Qualifications
  • 5+ years of practical experience in the health and safety discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in the black coal mining industry
  • Experience in Injury Management and a health and safety management software platform
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessing (desirable)
  • Carry Out Risk Management Processes – RIRRIS402E (G2) or above (desirable)
  • Return to Work Coordinator certificate (desirable)
  • ICAM Investigation Training (desirable)
