About the Role

At Jacobs, we're seeking a Senior Water Infrastructure Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for performing mechanical engineering design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pump stations and treatment plants.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to delivering major water and wastewater treatment projects. You'll also provide support and training to junior engineers, review detailed mechanical calculations, and assist with business development.

Our Water Infrastructure Section works on long-term framework agreements with major clients in Melbourne and collaborates nationally with teams across Australia.

Responsibilities

  • Performing mechanical engineering design from concept to detailed design phase
  • Developing mechanical designs and preparing technical reports and specifications
  • Reviewing detailed mechanical calculations and drawings
  • Contributing to multidisciplinary teams and providing support to junior engineers

Requirements

  • Recognised tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a closely allied discipline
  • Chartered status from relevant engineering body, including Professional Engineer Registration in Victoria
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the water and wastewater industry
  • Extensive experience in performing mechanical engineering design and leading engineering teams
