Job Description:

The primary function of the Legal Director role is to provide strategic legal counsel and guidance to commercial teams within the Asia Pacific region.

This involves managing the legal affairs of Res Med, including handling disputes, creating and enforcing intellectual property, and advising on commercial transactions.

As a key member of the Global Legal Team, you will work closely with senior management and leadership teams to drive business growth and protect the interests of Res Med.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of advice and support for commercial teams and activities across the APAC region
  • Management of a team of lawyers located in various countries across the APAC region
  • Partnership with senior commercial management and leadership teams across the APAC region
  • Analysis of regional legal and corporate risk, offering alternatives and recommendations as required
  • Drafting and negotiating major commercial contracts in support of commercial activities across the APAC region
  • Advice and support for commercial activities including Sales, e Commerce, Distribution, commercial transformation, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Compliance

Responsibilities also include delivering repeatable and predictable legal advice to commercial clients, providing education and awareness to client groups on relevant laws and practices, and coordinating activities with global counterparts.

Effective communication and stakeholder management skills are essential for success in this role.

This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and make informed decisions.

Experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving business outcomes is highly valued.

A strong understanding of commercial law and regulatory requirements is essential for this role.

Additionally, experience working in a fast-paced environment and adaptability to change are necessary.

The ideal candidate will have a collaborative mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

They must be able to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Professional certifications such as ILM or CCL would be an advantage but not essential.

Prior experience in a similar role or equivalent professional background is expected.

Responsible for maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Also responsible for reporting any incidents or near misses to the appropriate authorities in a timely manner.

Other tasks and duties may be assigned by the Manager as deemed necessary.
