Electrical Design Drafter Job Opportunity

This role provides the opportunity to join a dynamic environment and develop your career in electrical design drafter.

As an Electrical Design Drafter, you will provide support to designers and engineers by assuming responsibility for accurately drafting electrical control schematics for assigned projects that meet drawing standards.

The position is expected to deliver projects on time and within budget. The successful candidate will oversee project tasks and budgets and regularly communicate progress to designers.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce drawings and equipment lists for PLC, Safety and control systems using packages such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and/or Microstation.
  • Preparation of all aspects of drawing sets, structure, content and associated drawings for complex units/assemblies for whole projects.
  • Draft complex PLC and network control architecture considering safety and quality requirements.
  • Retrieve and apply information supplied by designers, engineers and customers to prepare and revise drawing specifications.
  • In consultation with designers, continuously review project specifications and customer requirements to ensure conformance with specifications, quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to prepare schematics for electrical control projects that do not conform to existing precedents.
  • Ability to translate electrical system concepts to the design and development of schematics.

Requirements:

  • Australian drivers licence.
  • A sound knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and/or Microstation with experience in designing and developing industrial electrical control systems for automation projects.
  • A Diploma in Electrical Engineering will be highly regarded.
