Electrical Services Director Job Description

As part of our Buildings & Property sector, you will lead technical delivery, manage projects and people, and contribute to setting the strategic direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the technical design on electrical services, including design management, for medium to large multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Deliver high-quality results and best practices for clients, ensuring timely completion and cost savings.
  • Act as a Project Lead and supervise a small team of Electrical Engineers and Drafters.
  • Maintain effective communication with external and internal stakeholders, as well as project teams.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and identify business opportunities.
  • Represent and promote the organization with local and regional markets.
  • Contribute to achieving strategic goals in the business unit.
About You:
  • Hold a recognized tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrate expertise in designing electrical systems.
  • Have the ability to coordinate and understand relevant building services disciplines, including Mechanical, Hydraulic, Fire Protection, and Environmentally Sustainable Design.
  • Proven experience in leading projects in the building services sector across Infrastructure, Property & Buildings, Defence, Healthcare, Educational, and/or Mission Critical facilities.
  • Possess knowledge of Australian building codes and standards; local NT experience is advantageous.
  • Ensure registration or eligibility for registration in the professional engineer register of the relevant state for the building/construction industry.
  • Demonstrate a history of effectively managing competing priorities, prioritizing tasks, and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Experienced project and people leader - capable of training and mentoring junior engineers, along with effective communication skills at all levels.
  • Knowledge of project finance and commercials is beneficial.
