Heavy Maintenance Technician Role

About the Position:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Heavy Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn-out parts, such as gears, axles, and hydraulic systems
  • Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues with equipment and recommend solutions
  • Work collaboratively with other technicians and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A certificate in trade and at least 2 years of experience in manufacturing or services environment
  • Current driver's license and ability to operate heavy equipment safely
  • Understanding of rail industry framework and related technical issues
  • Previous experience in overhaul, repair, and testing of air brake equipment installed on passenger, locomotive, and freight rolling stock
  • Hold or willing to obtain qualifications for Forklift, Overhead Gantry Crane, First Aid, Rail Industry Worker
