Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a communications specialist to enhance our impact in the field of humanities, social sciences, and languages.

The role is based within a leading hub for interdisciplinary Jewish studies, which collaborates widely with academic, government, and community partners across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

The communications specialist will manage all communications for an initiative focused on research into antisemitism, including developing materials, overseeing digital platforms, and supporting stakeholder engagement with universities and government. They will ensure all messaging aligns with the initiative's values of equity, safety, and institutional relevance.

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate excellent communication skills with experience creating content for diverse audiences. You should have proven expertise in issues management and crisis communications, including the ability to craft responsive messaging for sensitive topics and handle communications during challenging situations.

  • Cultural sensitivity and community awareness are essential, including a deep understanding of Jewish communities and culture, an appreciation of the complexities of contemporary Jewish life, and awareness of antisemitism and discrimination issues.
