Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative research professional to join our dynamic team at Griffith University's School of Environment and Science.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in conservation biology, conservation ecology, or a related field, with strong quantitative and data analysis skills, and demonstrated experience using GIS, R, Python, or other related tools.
The postdoctoral research fellow will develop, analyze, and publish research on agreed-upon definitions, metrics, and framework for measuring nature positive, using several Australian properties as case studies.
The role is a fixed term (3 year), full time position based at any of our Griffith University campuses.

- Develop, analyze, and publish research on agreed-upon definitions, metrics, and framework for measuring nature positive
- Test state-wide (Australian), Australia-wide, and global data using the framework
- Facilitate wide-scale uptake of our definitions, metrics, and framework
- Develop an online tool that shows what actions are being done, what actions are needed, and demonstrates nature-positive status
The successful candidate will be housed within Griffith University's School of Environment and Science and funded by the Nature Positive Linkage Project, led by leading academics from various universities.
Requirements- PhD in conservation biology, conservation ecology, or a related field
- Strong quantitative and data analysis skills, with demonstrated experience using GIS, R, Python, or other related tools
- Strong statistical skills
- Working knowledge of nature positive, counterfactuals, and additionality
- A strong track record of publishing high-quality research in peer-reviewed, high-impact journals, with experience presenting findings at national and international conferences
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary research teams, managing competing deadlines while maintaining effective communication with diverse stakeholders
