Job Overview:

The Project Engineer role is a pivotal position within our organization, responsible for driving the early contractor involvement in design and pre-TOC development of major water infrastructure projects across South Australia.

This key member will be involved in various project phases, fostering technical and project management expertise. They will also have opportunities to contribute to tender bids and submissions.

  • Representing the company on the MDJV Framework at pre-and-post RFTDS meetings with clients
  • Optimizing construction methodologies and identifying areas for improvement
  • Tracking project finances, reviewing costs vs. budget, and highlighting margin impacts
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and teams to resolve technical, commercial, and scheduling issues
  • Understanding project scope and identifying contractual risks and opportunities
  • Preparing variations, claims, and subcontract agreements
  • Planning procurement activities, organizing labor and equipment for investigation works
  • Assessing risks, implementing hazard controls, and supporting incident investigations
  • Reviewing CEMP and environmental procedures before work begins

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction/Project Management
  • 4+ years of Project Engineering experience in the Water, utilities, or transport spaces
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Office software and other relevant computer applications
