Social Work Specialist

About the Position:
The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the day-to-day operations of a social work team. This includes coordination and allocation of referrals, workload monitoring, and task completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide expert social work knowledge, expertise, and leadership in assessment, acute treatment care, and support.
- To contribute to excellence in inpatient care by setting high standards for social work practice and overseeing service delivery to the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- To lead the coordination of social work specific psychosocial assessments and interventions.
- To manage the social work team on the inpatient unit and function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- To engage with and consult various health professionals and community agencies.
Requirements:
- Experience in the mental health field is essential.
- Able to provide leadership and undertake various social work interventions, including individual, family, and group work.
- Knowledge of issues related to mental illness and its impact on dependent children, families, and carers from diverse backgrounds.
