Executive Sous Chef

This prestigious role plays a pivotal part in maintaining efficiency and consistency in our busy hotel kitchen environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Chef and support team to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Chef to plan, direct, and coordinate food preparation and culinary activities.
  • Supervise and lead the kitchen team during food preparation and service, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Monitor kitchen operations to maintain optimal levels of food quality, freshness, and consistency.
  • Develop and mentor junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence within the kitchen.
  • Ensure compliance with rigorous food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times.
  • Effectively manage inventory, stock ordering, and supplier communication in the absence of the Executive Chef.
  • Participate in menu development and contribute to cost-effective decision-making.
  • Organize kitchen scheduling, ensure efficient workspace management, and promptly address any kitchen-related issues that may arise.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging culinary trends and new techniques to drive innovation within the kitchen.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience:
    • Culinary degree or equivalent qualification in culinary arts is essential.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with a proven track record in a supervisory or management capacity.
    • Prior experience in high-end restaurants or premium hotels is highly desirable.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
    • Excellent culinary expertise, combined with a deep understanding of diverse cooking techniques, cuisines, and presentation styles.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and hygiene.
