About the Role

The Network Engineer role within Coles' Network Services business unit presents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the development of the company's network infrastructure.

This position involves building and configuring the Coles Network, working within the WAN and network management and automation (Network Services) Team, and providing expert operational network support. A key responsibility will be managing the entire lifecycle of a large enterprise network serving multiple offices, distribution centers, and retail locations.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Collaborating with the network automation squad to build and create automated processes for network deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Deploying and maintaining network management and observability tools, such as DNAC, Statseeker, etc.
  • Providing tier 3 support on changes and tasks, and performing a key role in developing IT solutions across Network and related technologies.
  • Implementing and maintaining network security standards in conjunction with architects, designers, and security teams.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed diagrams for existing and new technologies, working with automated network diagram tools, and engaging with network architects and designers.
  • Providing expert technical direction and skills in network incidents in coordination with the NOC, and service delivery team.

About You and Your Skills

  • Proven experience in Cisco Routing and Switching.
  • High level of experience in Python programming for network automation.
  • Knowledge of DNA-C, Prime, Statseeker, and other monitoring and network management tools.
  • Background or knowledge of security principles.
  • Experience with vendor management.

Commercial Skills & Formal Qualifications

    • Technological certification in Cisco networking, Cisco Routing and Switching, or equivalent highly desirable.
    • CCNP or equivalent experience level knowledge of routing and switching.
