About the Role

Flourish Australia is seeking a skilled and compassionate Intake Worker to join our team at the Queanbeyan Mental Health Hub. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality intake assessments and triage services to individuals and their families or carers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough intake assessments to determine suitability for Mental Health Hub services
  • Independently manage, respond to, and triage incoming referrals from multiple streams
  • Assess and mitigate risk, developing plans to ensure the safety and well-being of clients
  • Collaborate with internal and external service providers to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Provide general administrative support to the broader Queanbeyan service delivery teams

Selection Criteria
  1. Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or other allied health discipline recognised by the tertiary mental health services sector
  2. Experience in mental health assessment and triage, including care coordination, brief mental health assessments, risk assessments, and crisis intervention/safety planning
  3. Knowledge of recovery-focused and family-inclusive practice
  4. Basic understanding and/or knowledge of the concept and impact of mental health issues in the community
  5. High degree of computer literacy, including experience with report writing and electronic client information management systems
