Work Health and Safety Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Work Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at ACM Recruitment Pty Ltd. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who has a strong background in occupational health and safety, with a focus on construction and major projects.

About the Role:

This position will be responsible for providing hands-on support in implementing and delivering Council's Safety Management Systems across various work areas, including construction sites and major project sites.

The successful candidate will have expertise in providing specialist advice on legislative requirements and effective management of safety risks related to high-risk work, such as construction and excavation, plant and equipment.

Key responsibilities include supporting staff to meet legislative requirements, conducting safety audits and investigations, monitoring safety performance, and contributing to the development and implementation of WHS procedures.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related discipline
  • Construction industry general induction (white card)
  • Experience in a safety leadership role within the construction industry
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal customers and stakeholders
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as required

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in WHS, specifically in the construction industry. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues, managers, and external stakeholders.
