Job Opportunity

The School Maintenance role is an opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of our schools.

We are seeking a reliable and skilled individual to join our team as a School Maintenance staff member. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and upkeep of school buildings, equipment, and grounds.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in general maintenance of grounds/buildings, knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general trade maintenance, and understanding of machinery/equipment operation relating to building maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake repair/maintenance work as required to school buildings, including replacing locks, windows & light bulbs, patching holes, woodwork repairs
  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment
  • Estimate repair costs and document repairs undertaken
  • Handle, store, and distribute goods/materials
  • Move equipment/furniture as required
  • Upkeep school grounds, including mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, disposing of litter
  • Assist with school improvements, including fencing, paving, gardening projects
  • Drive school vehicles as required for registration inspections, repairs and servicing

Qualifications:

  • Experience in general maintenance of grounds/buildings
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general trade maintenance
  • Understanding of machinery/equipment operation relating to building maintenance
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Trade background is desirable
  • Own tools required
  • Current driver's licence and use of own vehicle
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment
  • You may be required to provide an International Police Check clearance
