Job Description

The Assistant Director, Project Operations and Release will play a critical role in the coordination and delivery of operational ICT projects within the organization.

The role provides operational project, change and release management services with the support of other members of the team throughout the change, to drive successful project outcomes.

  • Manage a portfolio of projects with the ability to work on multiple concurrently, including plan, manage and coordinate the activities of project implementations to ensure that the goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed timeframe and budget parameters;
  • Provide progress reporting to key stakeholders, including governance forums and executives, to ensure relevant stakeholders are kept informed of project progress and ensure release and outage schedules are communicated to business stakeholders;
  • Maintain active relationships with internal and external stakeholders including participation in project forums, workshops and governance meetings;
  • Coordinate and manage the project governance, including the scheduling of meetings, agendas, meeting papers, decision and action registers and minutes;
  • Lead the testing and coordination of system changes and releases, management and coordinate of pilots and related testing and consolidation of results;
  • Manage appropriate responses to defects found.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to demonstrate expertise in project management and release management.

They will have a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget, and be able to demonstrate a high level of adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
