Job Title: Family Support Mentor

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Family Support Mentor. This role involves providing personalized support and guidance to parents, helping them overcome various parenting challenges and empowering them to achieve their employment and educational goals.

This is a full-time position working from our Ipswich or Goodna site. As a Family Support Mentor, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing individualized mentorship to parents, offering support and guidance on various parenting challenges.
  • Assisting parents/carers to overcome barriers and empower them with the skills to achieve their individual employment and/or educational goals.
  • Facilitating workshops and group sessions on topics relevant to parent challenges.
  • Developing and implementing engaging educational materials and resources.
  • Fostering a safe and supportive environment for parents to grow and develop.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Personal lived experience in parenting or family support, along with relevant professional experience (Employment service experience highly regarded).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse families.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others, particularly parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with community resources and support systems is a plus.
