Overview of Quantitative Systematic Trader Role

We seek exceptional strategists who can harness the power of interdisciplinary knowledge and collaborative thinking. As a Quantitative Systematic Trader at SIG, you will combine quantitative research with trading expertise to develop innovative electronic strategies and monitor their real-time performance.

What You'll Do
  1. You will investigate new ideas by immersing yourself in market data, leveraging tools in mathematics, statistics, and programming.
  2. Through your research, you may discover a new pattern that can transform into a profitable trading signal.
  3. To assess the strength of that signal, you will run it through our back testing environment and carefully analyze its performance.
  4. If that signal produces promising results, you will work closely with technologists to put it into production.
  5. Once that signal is embedded in our electronic trading strategies, you will actively monitor its real-time performance in the financial markets.
  6. You will discuss your findings with other researchers, strategists, and traders to collect feedback and brainstorm new ideas.

Our comprehensive orientation program bridges the gap between academia and industry. We cover topics such as options pricing, proprietary data sets, and data analysis techniques. Our trading floor serves as a hub for continuous learning and development.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • A PhD in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, or Economics.
  • Solid analytical problem-solving skills and excellent logical reasoning.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both in understanding others and making yourself clearly understood.
  • Experience writing code to process and analyze large data sets, especially in Python.
  • A plus if you have experience in C++ or other low-level programming languages.
  • Demonstrated interest in strategic games and/or competitive activities.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
