About the Role

The Senior School Teacher - Mathematics and Science will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of students in their senior years.

This key position is responsible for planning, preparing and delivering innovative teaching programs across Years 7-12, contributing to the development of an engaging and rigorous curriculum that supports the diverse needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning: Plan, prepare and deliver comprehensive lessons consistent with relevant syllabi.
  • Student Engagement: Engage with students, parents, and colleagues to support a positive learning community.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with peers to meet position and departmental responsibilities.
  • Assessment Moderation: Organise assessment moderation activities to support consistent and comparable judgements of student learning.
  • Classroom Environment: Foster an inclusive, stimulating classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Administrative Tasks: Deal promptly and efficiently with requirements such as record keeping and the maintenance of student attendance and achievement information.
  • Professional Development: Participate actively in department meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Culture Building: Develop a culture of high expectations for all students by modelling appropriate dress, language, behaviour and communication practices.
  • Community Links: Contribute to professional networks and associations and build productive links with the wider community to improve teaching and learning.
  • Sharing Practice: Through Communities of Practice teams, be active and engaged in sharing practice and raising the bar of student achievement.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree in Education or related field.
  • Proven teaching experience in Mathematics and Science.
  • Strong subject knowledge and pedagogical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
