About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our Corporate Services Branch as an Assistant Director, Information Governance. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Information Governance team and contribute to the delivery of our functions as required.

The successful candidate will have a strong focus on strategic leadership, exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and a sound understanding of archives, freedom of information and privacy laws and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivery of the OFWO's information access and FOI functions in accordance with statutory requirements and best practice.
  • Leading projects and initiatives to ensure that FWO maintains a best practice approach to the management of information.
  • Enhancement of enterprise level information governance, management, skills and training.
  • Creating internal partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure that adequate engagement informs information governance strategies.
  • Adapt strategies and approaches to respond to risks, issues or evolving challenges.
Selection Criteria
  • Relevant qualifications and demonstrated professional experience in freedom of information, privacy or information management or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a small team to deliver an information governance service.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to make and document sound judgements.
  • Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to translate complex information into succinct materials for different audiences.
