About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Data Scientist to join our team at TikTok. As a Graduate Data Scientist, you will play a key role in analyzing massive log data to identify issues in online services and provide optimization solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns, and develop data-driven insights to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions to improve business outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain complex data models and algorithms to support business intelligence and data analytics.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop data visualizations and reports to communicate insights and recommendations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in data science practices.

Requirements

  • Final year student or recent graduate (within the last 12 months) with a background in Statistics, Mathematics, Computing Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Familiarity with statistics, linear algebra, probability theory, common data structures, and programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques, such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with big data processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
  • Understanding of CDN principles and experience in network quality optimization.
  • Familiarity with the theory and experimental process of A/B tests.
  • Proficient in applying related Python libraries to data analysis projects.
