About the Job

We are seeking casual staff for our busy spring/summer season to assist with various tasks related to garden maintenance and upkeep.

This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina, a passion for working with plants, strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and grow in the horticultural industry.

You will have the opportunity to work at beautiful and prestigious sites across ACT, including private schools, retirement villages, large commercial sites, and well-known sporting venues.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with garden maintenance tasks such as hedging, weeding, pruning, and mulching.
  • Operate hand tools and power equipment safely and effectively under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Load and unload materials, plants, and equipment from trucks and trailers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Your Skills and Qualifications
  • You possess a strong work ethic and are committed to completing tasks to high standards.
  • You are physically fit and able to safely lift and carry heavy objects, bend, squat, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or a related field is desirable.
  • You must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and sun.
  • A valid drivers licence is an advantage, and you should have, or be willing to obtain, a white card and working with children check.
  • Above all, you are mature and able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
