Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the design, fabrication, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment, adhering to specifications derived from technical documentation.
  • Overseeing the operation and upkeep of teaching and research facilities, ensuring efficient functionality.
  • Fostering collaborative relationships with academic staff and students to enhance educational outcomes through technical support.
  • Providing guidance and expertise in undergraduate laboratory classes, contributing to the overall educational experience.

Compliance and Safety:
The role includes a significant focus on maintaining compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for all staff and students.

Qualifications and Skills:
As a Level 4 candidate, you should possess:

  • A trade qualification as a Fitter and Machinist or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in traditional and digital manufacturing technologies, including Computer Aided Machining (CAM).
  • Strong ability to interpret technical documents and execute precision tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

For Level 5 candidates, additional qualifications include:

  • Experience with Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machining and Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.

Eligibility:
Applicants must have full Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Pre-employment checks will be conducted prior to appointment.
