Seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to work within our Cyber Security Team. The primary focus of this role is to support both our Cloud environments and the broader team. You'll be a thorough, methodical specialist with a fundamental commitment to security, automation, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously push IDP towards AWS Best Practice and AWS Well-Architected frameworks by reviewing our environment against AWS Best Practice and Well-Architected standards.
  • Experience with the core AWS services (e.g., EC2, VPCs, RDS, SNS, SQS, Microservices, IAM, Route 53, Lambda) to develop and maintain an Amazon AWS-based cloud solution.
  • Able to estimate usage costs and identify operational cost control mechanisms.
  • Automating application and infrastructure delivery utilizing CI/CD best practices.
  • Participate in the delivery and support of serverless cloud infrastructure using AWS tools such as Cloud Formation, Lambda, and other serverless offerings.
  • Working within the Infrastructure Team to support a diverse range of infrastructure across the IDP business, including traditional virtualization and Cloud technologies, Active Directory, ADFS, Azure AD, and AWS.
  • Utilize scripting to provision well-architected, scalable, and rightsized infrastructure.
  • Drive IDP security practices across the IDP business.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years' hands-on cloud engineering/data pipeline experience in AWS services with particular focus on day-to-day operations.
  • AWS core services - EC2, VPCs, RDS, SNS, SQS, Microservices, IAM, Route 53, Lambda.
  • Able to estimate usage costs and identify operational cost control mechanisms.
  • Automating application and infrastructure delivery utilizing CI/CD best practices.
  • Practical experience of how to utilize CI/CD pipelines to maximize quality in a development team.
  • AWS Certified in one of the following AWS Solutions Architect, SysOps, Developer, Cloud, DevOps professional or associate.
