Job Overview

The Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program (BHTSP) is a major initiative to enhance road safety, particularly between Gympie and Cairns. This ambitious project aims to achieve significant reductions in crash severity and frequency by 2030 through various measures, including wide centre line treatments, audio tactile line marking, intersection upgrades, rest areas, pavement strengthening, overtaking lanes, and upgrades to narrow structures.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional to lead a team of experts in developing the Southern Queensland Region's contribution to the BHTSP, ensuring consistency of delivery and technical practices across the program.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of professionals in developing the Southern Queensland Region's contribution to the BHTSP, working closely with key government agencies, Traditional Owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement for the program, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Represent the district on BHTSP specific technical, commercial, and contractual working groups and forums, promoting consistency and alignment.
  • Collaborate with the broader BHTSP teams across the state and the BHTSP PMO to ensure consistency of delivery and technical practices across the program.
  • Investigate, manage, and resolve complex engineering and contractual issues associated with the program.
