About the Role

The Policy and Advocacy Manager will drive key initiatives by:

  • Developing progressive advocacy issues and managing initiatives to advance MND Australia's strategic plan.
  • Creating and implementing advocacy strategies to raise awareness of policy propositions and maximize adoption.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of key issues, developments, trends, and expertise in relevant policy areas.
  • Providing high-quality advice on advocacy and government relations, including development of key messages and policy.
  • Undertaking policy research and analysis, including preparation of written reports and submissions.
  • Working with stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and information around MND care and research.
About You

We are interested in candidates with:

  • Proven experience in advocacy, policy, and issues management.
  • Knowledge of Federal Government processes, including policy development.
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary federal issues, such as the National Disability Insurance Scheme and aged care system reform.
  • The ability to locate, collate, and analyze complex content, data, and information.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and project management skills.
Position Type

This position is based in Canberra and is available full-time or part-time, subject to a six-month probation period.
