Mortgage Processing Team Lead

As a senior manager of our mortgage processing office in Sydney, you will lead a team of 15 professionals in processing and settling mortgages. Your goal is to ensure all settlements are completed on time for various mortgage providers across the country.

To succeed in this role, you will inspire, motivate, and mentor your team members to meet daily processing goals and take ownership of settlement deadlines. You will also empower staff, devise strong systems and processes, and manage client expectations.

This position involves:

  • Achieving Service Level Agreement (SLA) and contractual obligations with clients;
  • Managing team performance, overcoming challenges and objections, and handling problems and escalations;
  • Stakeholder management and managing client expectations;
  • Ensuring process volumes comply with client-specific operating processes;
  • Performance coaching and managing staff to help them grow and develop;
  • Forecasting and reporting on achieved volumes.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills;
  • Mortgage experience and understanding of mortgage settlements and processing;
  • Ability to review processes and procedures, solve problems, and think critically;
  • Flexibility to learn what the team does and get hands-on when required;
  • Experience leading a team in a back-office processing environment, settling mortgages for various clients.
Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing a team of mortgage processors to meet performance targets;
  • Developing and implementing effective processes and systems to improve efficiency;
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders;
  • Providing guidance and support to team members to help them achieve their goals;
  • Analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
