Strategic Defence Mission Engineering Specialist

This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of joint mission design in defence.

  • Key responsibilities include developing and documenting mission engineering processes and guidance for capability managers, driving digital engineering practices to support defence-wide mission engineering adoption, conducting collaborative workshops and consultative meetings with stakeholders, creating artefacts supporting experimentation, test, and evaluation of mission threads, and preparing and presenting artefacts to senior defence committees.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • 15+ years' experience in ADF doctrine application and military operational planning.
  • Strong understanding of defence strategic and policy context.
  • Background in capability development and systems engineering is desirable.
  • Critical thinking, innovation, and proven analysis skills in military/capability planning are essential.
  • Experienced professionals with additional qualifications and demonstrated delivery in complex defence environments are preferred.
