Job Overview

We are seeking skilled professionals to fill a role within a Joint Mission Design Team.

This team will be responsible for:

  • Collaborative design of mission threads and artefacts;
  • Development of artefacts for presentation to senior defence committees;
  • Creation of artefacts supporting experimentation, test & evaluation of mission threads;
  • Variation of documents and materials required in the briefing and collaborative approach to implementing a mission engineering approach.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ADF doctrine, military operational planning, and Defence's strategic context.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and participating in workshops;
  • Developing mission engineering practices;
  • Preparing high-quality documentation and artefacts for senior defence stakeholders.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be an Australian Citizen;
  • Hold and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance;
  • Have at least 15 years' experience relevant to the application of ADF doctrine and military operational planning;
  • Demonstrated understanding of Defence strategic and policy context;
  • Involvement in capability development processes including systems engineering;
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake analysis, apply critical thinking, and innovate on matters related to military and capability planning.
