Technical Services Manager for Africa's Underground Mining Operations

Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Technical Services Superintendent to join our African Operations on a 6:4 roster. This role is responsible for assisting Site Project Managers and Mine Foremen with technical mining issues on site or department, interpreting and analyzing mining physicals and site costs, and integrating with the client's technical services department.
The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive remuneration package, targeting a salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, plus benefits.
Key Responsibilities- Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations.
- Take reasonable care for your own safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts.
- Perform pre-start checks.
- Evaluate and implement cost reduction initiatives.
- Maintain intimate knowledge of the site contract, variations, and management plans.
- Collaborate with clients to meet contractual requirements and foster positive relationships.
- Analyze production data and monitor performance.
- Present monthly performance reports.
- Develop and manage Quality Assurance Programs.
- Prepare budgets.
- Assist with claims preparation and client interface.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in underground mining, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or a related field.
- Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency or First Class Mine Managers (FCMM) Certificate of Competency.
- Senior First Aid Certificate.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in high-productivity underground contracting environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with software applications such as MinRep, Deswick, and Surpac.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and apply established standards.
- International Drivers' License.
A full pre-employment medical examination, including a drug test and site-specific clearances, is required. A National Police Clearance and any necessary tickets or qualifications must be presented at time of interview.
