Apprentice Spray Painter

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Spray Painter. As an apprentice, you will work closely with experienced professionals to learn the skills and techniques required to produce high-quality finishes on heavy vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and prepare vehicle surfaces for painting to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Mix and match paint colours to achieve the desired results, taking into account factors such as colour theory and chemical composition.
  • Apply paint evenly and smoothly using spray guns and equipment, paying close attention to detail and quality control.
  • Apply primers and sealers to promote paint adhesion and prevent rust, ensuring a strong and durable finish.
  • Apply multiple layers of paint, including basecoat, clearcoat, and specialized coatings, to achieve the desired colour and finish.
  • Blend new paint into existing areas and perform detailed touch-ups, using techniques such as feathering and blending.
  • Create special textures, patterns, or effects using various techniques, such as stippling or marbling.
  • Monitor and control drying and curing processes, ensuring that the paint is properly dried and cured before moving on to the next step.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for flaws, making any necessary repairs or touch-ups.
