Research Fellow Details:

- A postdoctoral position funded at RMIT Academic level A6-A8.">
- A competitive salary range of $97,150 - $104,280 AUD per year + 17% Superannuation.">
- An expected start date between December 2024 and February 2025.">
Requirements:
">- ">
- A PhD in physics, physical chemistry or a closely related discipline.">
- A research background in computation in biophysics, condensed matter physics or physical chemistry.">
- Experience in atomistic simulations of membrane protein systems, with a strong preference for experience in simulations of ion channels, particularly potassium channels.">
- Experience in statistical mechanical theory and molecular dynamics simulations for biophysical problems using existing packages, with strong preference for experience in NAMD/VMD and CHARMM.">
- Background in using enhanced sampling and free energy methods, such as Umbrella Sampling and Free Energy Perturbation, with expertise in replica methods, such as Replica Exchange with Solute Tempering and Metadynamics.">
- Strong skills in supercomputing using both CPUs and GPUs, programming/scripting in a Unix environment, MD scripting for advanced simulations and analysis, as well as good visualization skills.">
- Able to work effectively with experimental collaborators to achieve high impact publications.">
- Experience in paper writing, with the ability to independently form high quality paper drafts.">
- Experience in conference presentation of research findings.">
- High level written and verbal communication skills.">
- Able to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment.">
- Able to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.">
