The role of a Cardiac Technologist involves providing safe, effective, and patient-centred care within a collaborative healthcare environment.
Job Responsibilities- Diagnostic Imaging: Perform cardiac echocardiograms on both inpatient and outpatient populations using advanced ultrasound technology.
- Equipment Maintenance: Record and archive appropriate study images to the image archive system and perform routine maintenance of equipment.
- Administration: Includes administration duties such as computerized data entry of patient demographics and recording of anomalies in patient notes.
- Clinical Trials: Participate in clinical trials and triage request forms and tests required.
- Communication: Effectively communicate emergency findings to the Director of Cardiology or Cardiologist on call and have effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to transcribe data accurately.
- A Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (Cardiac) or equivalent qualification.
- Current ASAR accreditation as a fully qualified sonographer.
- Demonstrated ability to perform echocardiographic studies and report findings as an interim report.
This is a part-time (24 hours per week), fixed-term position for 12 months based in the Imaging Department. You will work in a collaborative healthcare environment and have opportunities for professional growth and development.
Additional InformationYou will need to have effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to transcribe data accurately. You will also need to be able to work effectively in stressful situations and have strong problem-solving skills.
