  • Translate product goals into measurable backend solutions, run experiments, and refine features based on data-driven insights.
  • Mentor junior engineers to promote knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot search performance issues to ensure reliable and performant services.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in building and scaling backend systems with a focus on search and recommendations or similar domains requiring experiment-driven iteration.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable improvements to discovery systems.
  • Proficiency in Java at a senior level, along with a strong foundation in data structures and system design.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy owning problems from idea to execution.
  • Experience leading large-scale projects or initiatives and mentoring other engineers.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerized services (e.g., AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
