Emergency Response Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our Emergency Response team as a Team Leader. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and a passion for making a difference in the community.

The Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team of volunteers during emergency incidents, providing support and guidance as needed. They will also be responsible for coordinating logistics, including food and supplies, and ensuring that all necessary equipment is available.

  • Liaise with Incident Management Team members during emergencies.
  • Nominate meals, numbers, and service arrangements to support incident in consultation with onsite representative.
  • Determine ongoing requirements to ensure planning for developing needs of the incident and notify Coordinator or other nominated staff.
  • Assist with meal preparation and serving alongside volunteers during emergency incidents.
  • Procure additional food supplies in accordance with internal procedures where stock is insufficient.
  • Ensure sufficient volunteers on roster for incidents in liaison with other Team Leaders.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in volunteer engagement or management.
  • Food handling experience.
  • Operational role experience in the emergency and disaster services sector (desirable).
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or ability to obtain.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain.
  • Current unrestricted Driver's License.
  • Medium or Heavy Rigid Driver's License or ability to obtain.
