About the Role
We're seeking an experienced leader to join our Programs, Projects and Portfolio (P3) team. Your primary focus will be to ensure that the people, processes, and priorities are in place to accelerate the delivery of our key strategic objectives. You'll deploy best-in-class portfolio, program, and project practices to effectively prioritize, plan, and monitor the execution of our goals.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
  • Manage a team of Project Managers and Coordinators within our Projects team, fostering a culture of professional development, performance, and open communication.
  • Support your direct reports in delivering high-quality initiatives to our internal customers in Product and Go-to-Market teams.
  • Work alongside other members of the Programs and Delivery group to improve operational processes, drive cross-functional projects, and support the wider Xero organization in achieving success.

Key Responsibilities
Your success will be measured by your ability to:
  • Ensure strategic projects are reported accurately to the Functional and Xero Leadership Teams and the Board.
  • Develop project management resources to support great project delivery across Xero.
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and delivery of projects on time, on budget, and to the desired quality and scope.
  • Facilitate the definition of scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Develop fit-for-purpose project management plans and approaches, including agile, iterative, and waterfall methodologies.
  • Assemble project teams from internal and external resource pools as required.
  • Champion and drive processes and practices that enable project teams to excel, while promoting a safe environment for growth, experimentation, and learning.
  • Role-model exemplary leadership, supporting and growing the next generation of Project Managers and Coordinators at Xero.
  • Attract, recruit, and retain capable individuals, building on and complementing the diversity of our team.
