The role requires advising on the distribution, partnership, and promotional deals for various streaming services, ensuring compliance with Australian and NZ consumer laws for marketing and distribution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on content sales and distribution agreements for a library of motion pictures and television programming.
  • Supervising the drafting and negotiation of affiliate channel distribution deals for sports channels in Australian & NZ.
  • Managing one direct report and supervising legal clearance and compliance work for marketing materials.
  • Driving formulation, drafting, and implementation of company policies and best practice guidelines for business teams.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Significant experience (minimum 15+ years) as a qualified lawyer with top-tier firm private practice experience and in-house legal department experience focused on intellectual property, commercial, and media/entertainment law.
  • Admitted to practice law in any State or Territory of Australia.
  • Proven experience advising and working in the Australian media and entertainment industry, including digital product management and related marketing, and content distribution and monetisation.
