Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our geological group, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting geotechnical data in a structured learning environment.

  • You will work closely with our experienced engineers to develop your understanding of procedures related to ground stability, monitoring, and mine infrastructure.
  • Conduct various underground and open-pit geotechnical field tasks, including core logging, sample collection, and quality control measures.
  • Analyze and document geotechnical data for stope design criteria and ground support.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop a numerical model for underground workings and contribute to major mining projects.
  • Assist in training crews on ground support and ground conditions, and provide data for monthly reports.
Your Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering or Science degree with a Geotechnical specialisation.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer in both underground and open-pit projects.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to learn and use mining software packages, including Deswik, Leapfrog, and Rocscience software.
